A special taskforce formed by the Ministry of Commerce conducted a special drive in the market of Bandarban to control price hikes and monitor product quality.
Bandarban Deputy Commissioner (DC) and President of the taskforce Shamim Ara Rini led the operation on Thursday morning, the first day of Ramadan.
Additional District Magistrate Nazmul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police Farhad Sardar, and other members were also present during the drive.
The market monitoring team inspected the price lists and quality of products at fish, meat, poultry, and egg stalls, as well as in the vegetable and grocery markets.
Shamim Ara urged traders to maintain stable market prices. She said, “Mobile courts will be conducted regularly as needed to keep the market under control.”
