Global technology brand itel has launched a 180-day direct handset replacement warranty for feature phone customers in Bangladesh, effective from 20 May 2026, under which buyers who encounter qualifying mechanical defects within the first six months of purchase will receive a brand-new handset in place of a repair — a move the company said in a press release is aimed at making after-sales support simpler, faster and more accessible for budget-segment users ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
The warranty applies to all itel feature phones purchased on or after 20 May 2026 and covers manufacturing faults including power problems, display issues, charging failures, speaker or microphone malfunction, SIM or network issues and keypad defects. To claim a replacement, customers are required to visit any Carlcare Service Centre with the faulty handset, original purchase receipt and original box, and will receive a replacement unit on the same day.
Coverage under the scheme is structured in two phases: direct replacement is available for the first 180 days, after which Carlcare’s standard service warranty applies from day 181 through to the end of the first year. The warranty does not extend to physical damage, water damage, unauthorised repairs, or devices with tampered seals or mismatched IMEI numbers.
In Bangladesh’s mobile market, itel has established itself as a prominent name in the budget-friendly feature phone segment. The company said the initiative recognises the importance of reliable after-sales support for feature phone users and is intended to give them greater confidence in their everyday communication devices.
