Professor M Zubaidur Rahman, chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, called on the bank’s officials to prioritise customer satisfaction to further strengthen public trust.

Speaking as chief guest at Islami Bank’s officers’ conference, he emphasised that service quality must remain as their core objective.

The event, involving bank officials and employees from five corporate branches in Dhaka, was held at the Army Welfare Trust Hall in Dhaka Cantonment on Saturday, said a press release.

“Customers are the bank’s lifeblood,” Rahman said, stressing that complaints must be addressed promptly and seriously.

He added that officers and employees should treat the institution as their own to improve service standards and operational efficiency.

Chairman of the Executive Committee Mohammad Khurshid Wahab, Chairman of the Audit Committee Md Abdus Salam, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee Professor Mohammed Masud Rahman, and Independent Director Md Abdul Jalil spoke as special guests.

Senior executives from the head office, zone heads, and executives and officers from different levels were among others present.

In his address, Managing Director Md Omar Faruk Khan said strengthening the country’s economic base requires expanding investment in small-and-medium industries.

He said investment in the SME sector must be scaled up and urged officials to make banking services more accessible to the public through improved customer service.
