Inqilab Moncho has placed a four-point demand, including the cancellation of work permits for all Indian citizens residing in Bangladesh, “to uphold the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.”
The demands were announced from a protest march held in the capital’s Shahbagh area on Sunday night, demanding justice for the murder of the party’s spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
The demands were presented on behalf of the organisation by its Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber.
At the time, he called upon students from all universities, Qawmi and Alia madrasas, schools, and colleges, as well as the “freedom-loving people,” to gather at Shahbagh at 2pm on Monday.
Jaber said, “The fight will continue until justice is served.”
After presenting the demands, the organisation withdrew its concluded programme for the day. Vehicle traffic in the Shahbagh area soon returned to normal, said the duty officer of Shahbagh Police Station.
Jaber said, “Among the four points, our main demand is the arrest and completion of the trial of Hadi’s murderers within 24 working days. The remaining three demands are not unimportant. They must also be realised while this government is in power.
“To uphold the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh, the work permits of all Indians working in Bangladesh must be cancelled.”
The organisation’s specific four-point demands are – firstly, the judicial proceedings against everyone linked to murder – including the killers, planners, accomplices, escape facilitators, and harbourers – must be completed within the next 24 days.
Secondly, the work permits of all Indians residing in Bangladesh must be cancelled.
Thirdly, if India refuses to return all murderers who have taken shelter within its territory, a case must be filed against the neighboring country in an international court.
Finally, the fascist culprits hiding within civil-military intelligence must be identified and brought to book.
