The Indian Navy ship “INS Sunayna” arrived at the Chattogram Port on Friday for a three-day goodwill visit.
Upon the ship’s arrival at the port, the Chief Staff Officer of the Commander Chattogram Naval Area welcomed the visiting ship’s captain, officers, and sailors. A smartly turned-out contingent of Bangladesh Navy greeted the vessel following traditional naval customs.
Senior naval officers and representatives from the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh were present during the welcome ceremony. Earlier, the Bangladesh Navy ship ‘Ali Haider’ formally received the vessel as it entered the territorial waters of Bangladesh.

During the visit, a delegation comprising captain of the Indian ship and Naval Adviser of the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh will hold courtesy meetings with the Commander Chattogram Naval Area, Commander BN Fleet, Area Superintendent Dockyard, and chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority.
As part of the scheduled programme, the officers and sailors of the ship will visit various training bases and vessels of the Bangladesh Navy, alongside significant historical and tourist sites in Chattogram.
Simultaneously, members of the Bangladesh Navy will also visit the Indian ship.
According to the Navy, this goodwill visit will create opportunities to exchange professional expertise between the two navies and further bolster the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India.
The Indian Navy ship is scheduled to depart from Bangladeshi waters on 10 May.
