A five-day Training Instructors Course (TIC) organised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) began at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh’s (CAAB) Civil Aviation Academy on Sunday.
The programme aims to develop skilled trainers and align the country’s aviation training standards with global benchmarks.
Running from 5 April to 9 April, the course focuses on enhancing the capacity of aviation professionals through competency-based training and modern instructional techniques.
At the inauguration, Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan, member of planning and operations at CAAB, said, “In today’s world, the aviation sector is highly competitive and technology-driven.”
He added that the course would enhance trainers’ knowledge, skills, and professional standards. Training in line with ICAO standards, he noted, would help make the country’s aviation sector more modern, efficient, and safe.
“Developing quality instructors is essential for sustainable human resource development in the aviation sector, and such initiatives can open doors for international opportunities,” he farther added.
The course is conducted by ICAO-certified instructor Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty, who also serves as director of the Civil Aviation Academy. Chakraborty said the course, based on ICAO’s competency-based training framework, equips participants with practical knowledge in modern training techniques, effective presentation skills, assessment methods, and training planning.
Officials from various CAAB departments are participating in the programme. Successful candidates will receive ICAO certification, enabling them to conduct training in line with international standards and contribute to strengthening Bangladesh’s aviation workforce.
