Actress Tania Brishty has spoken publicly for the first time following her diagnosis and successful surgery for a brain tumour. On Wednesday (March 4) evening, she went live on Facebook to update fans on her recovery.
Tanya revealed that the tumour was detected on one side of her head, prompting doctors to recommend surgery. While such procedures typically last six to eight hours, her operation was completed in around two and a half hours.
Following the surgery, Tanya remained under medical observation for several days before returning home, where she is now resting and recuperating.
Tania recounted her first moments after waking from the operation. “As soon as I opened my eyes, I was looking for my mother. I was telling the doctor that I was fine,” she said, adding that the doctors advised her to continue resting for a few more days.
Addressing the rumours that circulated about her condition, Tania said, “There has been a lot of news about my illness. Some claimed I was dead or in a coma without asking. That is why I chose not to comment earlier.”
She also revealed that her weight had increased due to the surgery and ongoing medication, but she is determined to return to the gym and regain her fitness. A number of her dramas are set to air during the upcoming Eid, despite her reduced work schedule over recent months.
Answering fans’ questions about Ramadan, Taniaa explained that she is currently unable to fast due to the multiple daily medications she must take. However, she continues to pray at home.
Finally, Tania expressed gratitude for the support she has received, saying, “The love, prayers and encouragement from my fans have given me immense strength. I hope to recover fully and return to acting very soon.”
