The official trailer for Hoichoi original series ‘Headline’ has been released ahead of its streaming debut on June 25, introducing viewers to a suspense-driven story centred on journalism, corruption and the pursuit of truth.
Directed by Saleh Sobhan Anim, the eight-episode series will premiere on the streaming platform Hoichoi on June 25. Following the release of its poster and teaser, the project had already attracted significant attention from audiences.
The trailer highlights a narrative built around investigative reporting, personal struggles and the uncovering of a hidden truth. At the centre of the story is young journalist Samiul, who uncovers evidence of a major money laundering network. However, his report mysteriously disappears, leading him to realise the high cost of exposing the truth.
As the story unfolds, Samiul finds himself pursued by corrupt detective branch officials while becoming involved with Zahir, an investigative journalist living in hiding. Together, they become entangled in a dangerous cat-and-mouse struggle as they attempt to bring the truth to light.
Actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba plays Zahir in ‘Headline’. Speaking about the role, he said, “Zahir has a remarkable character arc. Audiences will see different sides of him throughout the story. As an actor, I was drawn to the complexity of the character.”
He added that the mystery, pace and contemporary themes of the story were among the factors that encouraged him to take on the project.
Actress Afsana Ara Bindu returns to the OTT space after three years, portraying a character named Irene.
Meanwhile, Yash Rohan, who plays Samiul, described the role as a career-defining opportunity.
“I feel as though I have been waiting for this character throughout my career. While performing, I was no longer Yash. I became Samiul,” he said.
Actress Sarika Sabrin, who portrays Dolon, said the trailer has increased audience expectations, but suggested that the series itself contains the biggest surprises.
The cast also includes Shyamal Mawla, Farhana Hamid, Rai Rajanya, Arnil Birol, Monirul Islam Rubel, Aminur Rahman Mukul and AK Azad Setu, among others.
