Hasan Mia, deputy registrar of the Teacher Recruitment Cell, has been appointed as the acting registrar of the Chittagong University (CU).
He assumed office on Thursday morning, formally taking charge at the registrar’s office at around 11am.
The outgoing acting registrar Prof Mohammad Saiful Islam handed over responsibilities to Hasan Mia at a ceremony attended by teachers from different departments, heads of various sections of the registrar’s office, senior officials and employees of the university.
After taking charge Hasan Mia paid a courtesy call on CU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Al-Forkan at the vice-chancellor’s office.
He later held discussions with section heads and senior officials of the registrar’s office.
During the meeting, the newly appointed acting registrar sought cooperation from all concerned to ensure the university’s administrative activities are carried out more efficiently and smoothly.
