The government has appointed new deputy commissioners in 14 more districts, a day after reshuffling DCs in 15 districts as part of preparations to strengthen field administration ahead of the upcoming national election.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued the order on Sunday with immediate effect.
According to a government issued notification, Narail Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akhter Jahan has been transferred to Brahmanbaria, while Meherpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Salam has been transferred to Narail.
Director of the Department of Environment Abdullah Al Mashud has been appointed as the DC of Jhenaidah. Mohammad Yusuf Ali, Zonal Settlement Officer of the Directorate of Land Records and Survey in Khulna, will serve as the DC of Jamalpur.
Lutfun Nahar, Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed DC of Meherpur, while Dhaka South City Corporation Chief Revenue Officer Mohammad Aslam Molla has been posted as the DC of Kishoreganj.
Momin Uddin, Director at the Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery, has been made DC of Jhalakathi. Home Ministry Deputy Secretary Arif-Uz-Zaman has been appointed DC of Gopalganj. Economic Relations Division Deputy Secretary Mohammad Kamal Hossain has been posted as DC of Chuadanga.
Kazi Md Sayemuzzaman, Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, has been given charge as DC of Panchagarh. Al-Mamun Miah, Director at the Office of the Chief Adviser, has been appointed DC of Joypurhat.
Deputy Secretary Md. Saifur Rahman of the Ministry of Agriculture will serve as the DC of Mymensingh, while Nazmun Ara Sultana, Deputy Director of Local Government at the Khagrachhari DC office, has been appointed DC of Manikganj. Nazmul Islam Sarkar, Director at the Office of the Chief Adviser, has been appointed DC of Chandpur.
The government on Saturday initiated the reshuffle at the field level by replacing deputy commissioners in 15 districts, with officials saying the move aims to ensure efficient administration ahead of the polls.
