The government has released a documentary showcasing the unwavering leadership of three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing unveiled the 2:40-minute documentary, titled The Long Walk to Democracy, which highlights Begum Khaleda Zia’s pivotal role in the country’s democratic movement. The documentary emphasizes her determination, foresight, wisdom, and unique character in Bangladesh’s political landscape.
Produced by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the documentary also chronicles her significant contributions to the anti-autocratic movement, the restoration of democracy, and the shift from presidential to parliamentary governance.
It reflects her steadfast commitment during the one-eleven era, where she prioritized the nation’s welfare even at the cost of her own safety and that of her sons. The documentary further sheds light on her imprisonment under false charges during the authoritarian rule of Sheikh Hasina.
The documentary concludes with the message: “Begum Khaleda Zia, the Nation Prays for You.”
