Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad on Sunday said the government is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East amid rising tensions that have disrupted international travel.
He made the remarks while visiting Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, where several passengers remain stranded due to flight cancellations linked to the ongoing crisis.
During the visit, the minister received a briefing on the overall situation at the airport. He spoke with stranded passengers, listened to their concerns and assured them of government support during the uncertainty.
Mofazzal Hossain said passenger safety and welfare remain the government’s top priority. He said authorities are coordinating with the relevant agencies to facilitate swift travel arrangements once the situation stabilises.
He urged passengers to remain patient.
Several international flights have already been cancelled due to the tense situation in the Middle East, leaving many travellers stranded at the airport.
