Gold hits record high of Tk2.57 lakh per bhori

The price of 22-carat gold (11.664 grams) has gone up by Tk1,574 per bhori. Following this latest hike, the price of one bhori of gold has reached a new historic record of Tk2,57,191.

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price hike through a press release on Sunday night. The new prices came into effect from Monday.

Prior to this, BAJUS had increased the price of gold on Friday. That day, the price was raised by Tk6,299 per bhori, setting the price per bhori at Tk2,55,617.

According to the new announcement from BAJUS, the price for 21-carat gold is now Tk2,45,527 per bhori, 18-carat gold is Tk2,10,419 per bhori, and traditional method gold is set at Tk1,72,919 per bhori.

Alongside gold, the price of silver has also increased.

The price of 22-carat silver has been raised by Tk350, now set at Tk7,232 per bhori. Similarly, the prices for all other grades of silver have also risen.
