A reported autobiography chronicling the extraordinary life of Rajinikanth could soon make its way to the big screen, with fresh reports suggesting a feature film adaptation is under discussion, writes India Today.
Although no official announcement has been made, Indian media reports claim conversations are underway about adapting the superstar’s life story into a film alongside the upcoming autobiography.
The book is expected to trace Rajinikanth’s remarkable journey from his early struggles as a bus conductor in Bengaluru to becoming one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated and influential actors.
It is also expected to explore key milestones in his personal life, professional achievements and the challenges he overcame on his path to stardom.
According to a report by Movies Singapore, the veteran actor has discussed the possibility of a film adaptation with people close to him, although the project has yet to receive official confirmation.
Earlier, Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth revealed that the actor had already begun writing his autobiography.
She described it as a comprehensive account of his life.
“For our dear Thalaiva, the man who paved his own way through hard work, Rajini sir has already begun writing his life history, beginning from his struggles as a bus conductor in Bengaluru to becoming a superstar in Kollywood,” she said.
She added that the autobiography would provide readers with an intimate look at the dedication behind every stage of his career.
“This autobiography will give insight into his journey and the effort he has put in for every single role and in his life… it will be a global sensation,” she said.
Rajinikanth’s rise from a modest background to global superstardom has become one of Indian cinema’s most inspiring success stories.
After working as a bus conductor in Bengaluru, he entered the film industry and went on to build a career spanning more than five decades across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada cinema.
Widely known as “Thalaiva,” Rajinikanth has received several of India’s highest civilian honours, including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 15 October.
The veteran star also has Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, in development.
