Four more people died from dengue, while 758 new patients hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
According to a press release from the DGHS, with the new data, the death toll from dengue has risen to 242, while dengue cases have reached 57,015 this year.
Among the new patients, 133 were admitted in Barisal division, 85 in Chattogram, 158 in Dhaka division, 62 in Khulna, 50 in Mymensingh, 47 in Rajshahi, 19 in Rangpur, and 2 in Sylhet. Meanwhile, 102 and 100 patients were admitted to Dhaka North and Dhaka South City Corporations, respectively.
In the same period, 764 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of discharged patients this year to 54,118.
Up to 15 October this year, a total of 57,015 people have been diagnosed with dengue, including 61.2% males and 38.8% females.
In 2024, there have been 111,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths. In 2023, a total of 321,179 people were hospitalised due to dengue, and 1,705 died across the country.
