A fire that broke out at Purabi Super Market in Mirpur, Dhaka, has been brought under control.
The incident occurred at around 9:18am on Friday.
Fire Service control room official Rafi Al Faruk confirmed the matter to the media.
He said the fire originated on the ground floor of the market. However, the exact shop where it started could not be confirmed immediately. Details will be known after the fire is fully extinguished, he added.
Rafi Al Faruk said the Fire Service received information about the blaze at 9:18am. Two units reached the spot at 9:28am and began efforts to bring it under control.
He confirmed that the fire is currently under control.
The Fire Service official said the cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be confirmed immediately.
