Popular actress Farzana Chumki has played the role of Kadambini in the special television drama Jibito O Mrito, based on a story by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

The drama was adapted by Shahriar Hannan and directed by Ilon Shafi for broadcast on Bangladesh Television. Production was completed recently, and the drama has already aired on BTV Chattogram.
Chumki said she received a positive response from viewers for her portrayal of Kadambini.

“Jibito O Mrito has already been broadcast on BTV Chattogram. I have received a good response for playing Kadambini. I am sincerely grateful to the BTV Chattogram authorities and send my love to my co-artists,” she said.

Chumki has also acted in Sajin Ahmed Babu’s drama Amra Viral, which is expected to air on Banglavision in the middle of this month.

Alongside television, she remains active on stage. She is currently performing in Rangmahal, directed by Faruk Ahmed for Dhaka Theatre.

She is also appearing regularly in Shahiduzzaman Selim’s production Ekti Loukik Othoba Aloukik Steamer.

Chumki began her acting career in 1998 with Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond’s drama Jibon Jekhane Jemon.

The following year, she became the second runner-up in the Lux Anandadhara Photogenic competition before joining the country’s renowned theatre troupe Dhaka Theatre.

She has since acted in numerous Dhaka Theatre productions, including Hat Hadai, Bonpangshul, Prachya, Joiboti Koinnar Mon and Ekti Loukik Othoba Aloukik Steamer.

The actress says she wants to continue performing on stage regularly.
