Actor Farrukh Ahmed Rehan is set to make his big-screen debut with Andhar, which is scheduled for release in December.
The film’s promotional campaign will begin soon with the release of its official trailer on YouTube.
Rehan, who is known for his interest in horror stories, said he never imagined getting the opportunity to make his film debut with a major horror project.
He is particularly excited about working with director Raihan Rafi on his first film.
“Those who know me know how much I love horror stories. But I never imagined that I would get the opportunity to work in such a big horror film. I have only recently started my journey as an actor,” Rehan said.
He added that after hearing the story, he placed his trust in the filmmakers and was willing to follow their direction.
“I told Rafi bhai, Shakib bhai and Adnan bhai that I was putting myself in their hands. Whatever they asked me to do, I would do. I will always be grateful for the effort they have made with me,” he said.
In Andhar, Rehan will portray a character named Himel.
“This is my big-screen debut. Please keep me in your prayers. See you at a cinema near you,” he said.
A native of Tangail, Rehan began his acting career only recently but has already earned attention for his performances in several television dramas.
During the last Eid, he also appeared in director Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raz’s YouTube film Obhijan, where he played himself.
Andhar marks his first feature-film appearance. Based on a story by Suman, Shakib and Adnan, the film is directed by Raihan Rafi. Rehan shares the screen with established performers including Afsana Mimi, Chanchal Chowdhury, Siam Ahmed and Gazi Rakayet.
Story writer Shakib Chowdhury said the team was looking for a fresh talent for the role of Himel.
“We needed a new talent for Himel, someone we could introduce to audiences in a fresh way. Raihan Rafi searched extensively before finding Rehan. I believe many people will be looking for him after Andhar is released,” he said.
With his debut arriving at the end of the year, Rehan is hoping Andhar will establish him as a promising new face on the big screen.
