Tollywood star Jeet has clarified that he had no role in the decision to postpone Dev’s Bike Ambulance Dada, which was originally expected to release alongside his upcoming film Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat on 14 August.
The release of Jeet’s film is highly anticipated by Bengali audiences.
However, Dev’s Bike Ambulance Dada was unexpectedly postponed at the last moment, prompting speculation that the decision may have been made to avoid a box-office clash between the two stars.
Jeet has now dismissed those assumptions. In a recent interview, the actor said he had no involvement in the decision to shift the release date.
“Why Dev’s film was postponed is something Dev knows, or perhaps it was discussed between Dev and Nandi Movies. It has nothing to do with me,” Jeet said.
He added that neither Dev nor anyone associated with the film had discussed the matter with him.
“I have no answer as to how or why the release was postponed. I was not involved in any way,” he said.
Jeet and Dev are among the biggest stars of contemporary Bengali cinema.
While their fans frequently compare the two actors and debate their box-office rivalry on social media, both have maintained that there is no personal animosity between them.
The actors previously shared the screen in Raj Chakraborty’s Dui Prithibi in 2010.
They have also indicated that they would be open to working together again if they find a suitable script.
Meanwhile, Dev had earlier addressed the postponement of Bike Ambulance Dada in an Instagram Story.
He said the team wanted the film to reach audiences at the right time and had therefore decided to delay its release.
Dev also thanked fans for their patience and assured them that the film would return to theatres soon, asking audiences to continue trusting the team.
With Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat now set for an 14 August release, Jeet’s clarification puts to rest speculation that the postponement of Dev’s film was the result of a decision between the two stars.
