The expelled leader, Md Obaidur Rahman, was organising secretary of the Aliabad union BNP unit under Faridpur Sadar upazila.

Isa said the decision was taken at a meeting of the district BNP on Thursday night after the allegations against Obaidur were found to be true.

Repeated attempts to contact Obaidur by phone for comment were unsuccessful.

Earlier, a five-minute and 37-second obscene video allegedly showing the BNP leader with a woman circulated widely on social media.
