Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain on Sunday said the upcoming thirteenth national election will be held at the time announced by the government. He added that the Election Commission has already taken the necessary preparations.
He made the remarks while speaking at an Imam-Khatib conference organised by the Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation at Cumilla Town Field.
Khalid Hossain said the government has introduced policies to ensure workplace safety for khatibs, imams and muezzins across the country, noting that the interim administration stands beside those who provide essential services to the public.
He said the unfinished work of model mosques nationwide will be completed and all mosque service providers will be brought under a unified policy so they can seek protection or legal recourse if they face discrimination.
Chairman of Shane Sahaba Jatiya Khatib Foundation Shaykh Mufti Shamim Majumdar spoke at the conference as the main speaker with Central Joint Secretary General of Shane Sahaba Jatiya Khatib Foundation and its Cumilla metropolitan president Shaykh Abdullah Al Mamun Mustafi in the chair.
Among others, Secretary General of Shane Sahaba Jatiya Khatib Foundation Mufti Sharif Ullah Tarequi also spoke.
