The Election Commission will announce the election schedule Thursday at 6pm, the Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, the CEC, four election commissioners, and the Election Commission secretary paid a courtesy call on the President to discuss pre-election preparations and the Commission’s overall activities.
Following the meeting, Election Commission Secretary Akhtar Ahmed told reporters that the President expressed satisfaction with the Commission’s work and assured continued cooperation to facilitate a free, fair, and meaningful election.
He added that the CEC briefed the President on the voter list update carried out between January and October 31, as well as the current status and progress of political party registrations.
