A 35-year-old construction worker died after being electrocuted at an under-construction multi-storey building in Fatullah, Narayanganj, on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at an under-construction six-storey building owned by Anwar Hossain in the Muslimnagar area of Fatullah.

The deceased was identified as Hanif Sikder, 35, son of the late Ahammad Ali Sikder of Malai Nagar village under Sreepur Police Station in Magura district. He had been residing in the Bholail area of Fatullah while working as a construction worker.

Fatullah Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Anwar Hossain said that Hanif came into contact with an electric wire while working and was critically injured. His co-workers rescued him and rushed him to Victoria General Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.

The body has been sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
