Police recovered the body of an easybike driver in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar, on Monday.
Ramu Police Station’s Inspector (Investigation) Sheikh Md Farid confirmed the matter. He said the body was recovered from a field in Chowdhurypara of Dakkhin Mithachhari union.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Babul, 35. Police suspect the driver was murdered and his easybike stolen by assailants.
Locals informed police after discovering the body with a slit throat at night. Police went to the scene and recovered the body. A mobile phone was also found there.
The victim’s relative, Yunus, said that Babul had dropped his mother at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital and set out for home in his easybike. On the way, several individuals posing as passengers boarded his vehicle. Later that night, news arrived of his body being recovered, he added.
The incident is under investigation, and efforts are ongoing to identify those involved.
