East West University hosted a panel discussion on how artificial intelligence is transforming industry, education and the future workplace, bringing together industry leaders, students and academics to examine the technology’s growing role in Bangladesh’s economy.
The event, titled Artificial Intelligence in Industry: Transforming Education and the Future Workplace, was organised by the Department of Business Administration, Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery on the university’s campus in Dhaka on 24 June. The discussion aimed to help students better understand AI’s increasing significance in modern industries, business operations and professional environments, the university said in a press release.
The panel featured Reaz Uddin Khan, Country Director of ADA Data AI Solutions Limited, and Md Tajdiqul Islam, Manager, Business Excellence & Project Supply Chain, Nestlé Professional Bangladesh.
The speakers shared their experiences and perspectives on the practical applications of AI, emerging industry trends, data-driven decision-making, workforce transformation and the skills needed to succeed in an AI-powered economy.
The programme was organised by Senior Lecturer Bushra Humyra Esha and Lecturer Munira Parvin of the Department of Management Information Systems at East West University.
According to the organisers, the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice by exposing students to contemporary technological developments and professional insights.
The organisers said preparing students for a future in which artificial intelligence plays an increasingly central role in business, education and society is essential. They said the discussion was expected to encourage students to explore AI-related knowledge, strengthen their digital competencies and better understand the changing demands of the modern workplace.
Faculty members, students, industry professionals and invited guests attended the session, providing a platform for knowledge-sharing and discussion on the future of artificial intelligence in Bangladesh.
