Duronto TV is marking Christmas with a themed day of festive programming, placing family-friendly storytelling and celebration at the centre of its schedule.
The children’s channel will air a Christmas special episode of its popular drama series ‘Hoi Hoi Holla Season 3’, built around a light-hearted mystery. The story follows Dr Safdar Chowdhury and the young residents of his apartment building as they prepare to celebrate Christmas. Safdar plans a surprise by dressing up as Santa Claus and distributing gifts with the help of Meghdut and Adrita. The festivities take a twist when the presents and the Santa costume are stolen, only for two different Santas to appear later with the missing gifts.
The episode features performances by child actors Kazi Afra Evelina, Ishraq Turja, Samadrita Prohor, Ayaz Mahmud, Raida Ri Juni and Kawsar Bin Mamun, alongside Abul Hayat and Shahanaz Khushi. Directed by Partha Pratim Haldar, the special will be broadcast on December 25 at 1:00 pm and again at 9:00 pm.
Complementing the drama, Duronto TV will also air a Christmas edition of its cooking show ‘Banai Mojar Khabar Maa Baba Aar Ami’. The episode highlights festive recipes as young participant Hanshen Lucas Adhikari Taman cooks with his mother, preparing dishes such as fruit cake, fruit salad, duck steak and sautéed vegetables. Directed by Amina Noshin Raisa and hosted by Afifa Akhtar Lita, the programme will air at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
The festive schedule also includes a special dance programme, ‘Aji Shubhodine’, set to be broadcast at noon on Christmas Day.
