Professor David Lyon of King’s College London and Professor Jean Seaton of the University of Westminster, London, paid a courtesy call to Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan.
The meeting, held on Thursday, at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, focused on strengthening the development of education and research activities at the university.
During the visit, Professor Khan briefed the British academics on the historical legacy of the University of Dhaka and the education-friendly atmosphere currently prevailing during his tenure.
He placed significant emphasis on the need to improve the quality of higher education through the expansion of joint collaborative programmes and research initiatives with prestigious international universities.
The Vice-Chancellor further noted that the university is engaged in relentless efforts to advance its academic standards and global reach. He also highlighted various strategic initiatives recently undertaken to enhance Dhaka University ‘s pogress on the world stage.
