The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has removed all types of unauthorised election campaign materials from areas under its jurisdiction ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election and the referendum.
In a press release issued on Sunday, DSCC said it had carried out the drive in line with directives related to the national election and the referendum on the implementation order of the July National Charter 2025.
According to the statement, DSCC on 2 December 2025 issued a public notice requesting concerned organisations, individuals and institutions to voluntarily remove all unauthorised banners, festoons, posters, advertisements, signboards and election campaign materials from the areas.
Following the notice, the removal of all unauthorised advertisements and election campaign materials in every ward began on 8 December 2025.
The Bangladesh Election Commission announced the election schedule for the 13th National Parliament Elections and the referendum on 11 December 2025. After the announcement, the Election Commission directed that all election campaign materials be removed within 48 hours.
DSCC said it successfully removed almost all such materials within the stipulated time, and the operation remains ongoing.
To protect the city’s environment and aesthetics, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) is urging all concerned to follow the ‘Political Parties and Candidates’ Code of Conduct, 2025′.
The city authority also urged residents to report any reinstallation of unauthorised election materials within DSCC areas or to share information regarding existing materials with the central control room at 02223386014.
