A court in Dhaka sent four more accused, arrested during investigation as members of the Awami League and Jubo League, whose activities are banned, to prison on Friday in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over cocktail explosion and sabotage in the capital’s Gulshan.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Ehsanul Islam passed the order following an petition submitted by the investigating officer. The accused sent to prison are Sohim Uddin, 30; Tushar, 27; Sadman Sakib, 36; and Al Amin Mridha, 45.

According to case details, when police attempted to disperse the group, the suspects threw cocktail explosives targeting the police to create panic.

Police subsequently fired two rounds of rubber bullets to bring the situation under control, causing the suspects to disperse and flee. Five cocktail explosives were seized from the scene.

Sub-Inspector Md Mahbub Hossain of Gulshan Police Station filed the case as plaintiff under the Anti-Terrorism Act, naming 118 individuals alongside 80 to 100 unidentified persons.
