The Acting Executive Engineer of Zone-05 under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Md Mizanur Rahman has been temporarily suspended following allegations of negligence and misconduct in overseeing road construction and repair work.
The suspension order, signed by DNCC Secretary Muhammad Asaduzzaman, was issued on Thursday afternoon.
According to the office directive, irregularities were observed during inspections of ongoing projects in the Mohammadpur area, including cracks, subsidence, and other defects.
The action has been taken under Clauses (a), (b), and (c) of Rule 49 of the DNCC Employees Service Regulations, 2019, relating to negligence, misconduct, and inefficiency in performing official duties.
The matter drew attention after State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj inspected the Mohammadpur sites on Wednesday.
Both the minister and local residents expressed concern over the poor quality of work at multiple locations.
