The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sought bank account information and transaction details of content creator Salman Mohammad Muqtadir.
In an email sent to banks on Wednesday, the BFIU requested details of Salman Muqtadir’s bank accounts, including account opening forms (AOFs), know-your-customer (KYC) information and account statements.
The email named Salman Muqtadir and instructed the concerned banks to provide the requested information on an urgent basis. It also stated that the message was of high priority.
The concerned banks were asked to provide soft copies of the KYC documents and account statements for accounts held in Salman Muqtadir’s name. They were also asked to fill in and send all account-related information in the attached Excel file, along with details of interest income and tax deducted at source for each identified account.
The banks were instructed to send the information through the GoAML message board within one hour. At the same time, citing the relevant provision of a BFIU circular, the message instructed the banks to maintain confidentiality of the information.
