Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan on Sunday said Vitamin A Plus capsules are being administered through 1,905 permanent and 10,891 temporary centres across 54 wards under DNCC’s 10 zones.
He said the campaign will continue for the next three days.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign 2026 at Ershad Field in Korail, Banani, according to a press release.
Prime Minister’s Assistant Private Secretary Abdur Rahman Suny attended the programme as the special guest and formally launched the campaign.
The administrator said the government has taken special initiatives to ensure every eligible child across the country, from districts and upazilas to cities, neighbourhoods, villages and rural areas, receives Vitamin A Plus capsules.
He said DNCC will provide the capsules to all eligible children within its jurisdiction and urged residents to contact the corporation if they need any assistance.
He also said the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is a government of the people and that DNCC will continue providing all civic services in the public interest.
Shafiqul said DNCC had successfully implemented the measles-rubella vaccination campaign and would continue working to ensure the successful delivery of other public services.
He also urged city residents to help prevent dengue during the monsoon by removing stagnant water from rooftops, gardens, homes, courtyards and other places.
He said DNCC is continuing cleanliness drives across the city and called on residents to cooperate in making the campaign successful.
