DMP launches probe into Bishal Center incident

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has constituted an investigation committee to probe an incident involving a shop at the Bishal Center in the capital’s Moghbazar.

In connection with the matter, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatirjheel Police Station has been attached to the DMP Headquarters, while an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has been attached to the Rajarbagh Police Lines.

The incident occurred on Friday, 20 March, when an “unwanted situation” arose between the market committee and a showroom regarding an offer for the sale of panjabis. The DMP formed the committee to investigate whether any police personnel were involved in the occurrence.

According to a press release issued on 26 March 2026, further departmental actions will be taken based on the recommendations submitted by the investigation committee.

The information was confirmed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of the DMP.
