Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 425 cases against traffic law violators across the city on Sunday.
The information was confirmed in a press release signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman PPM, Deputy Commissioner of DMP Media and Public Relations, on Monday.
According to traffic sources, Romna division registered 48 cases, including one bus, three CNGs and eight motorcycles.
Lalbagh division saw 37 cases, including four trucks, three CNGs and 21 motorcycles. Motijheel division recorded 31 cases, comprising three trucks, four covered vans, three CNGs and 12 motorcycles.
Wari division filed 25 cases, covering three buses, five trucks, two covered vans, five CNGs and six motorcycles.
Tejgaon division led with 66 cases, involving one bus, one truck, one covered van, nine CNGs and 46 motorcycles.
Mirpur division reported 76 cases, including one truck, five covered vans, eight CNGs and 40 motorcycles.
Uttara division filed 63 cases, with 11 buses, one truck, three covered vans, two CNGs and eight motorcycles.
Gulshan division recorded 79 cases, including one bus, one covered van and 21 motorcycles.
The operation also saw 94 vehicles impounded and 55 towed, the police added.
Traffic sources said that DMP’s regular operations to maintain road discipline across the capital will continue in the coming days.
