Anne Hathaway has revealed why she could not make a real-life appearance on ‘Hot Ones’ while promoting ‘Verity’.
The 43-year-old actor, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, said her doctor advised her against taking part in the spicy-wing challenge because she “might go into early labour”.
Speaking on the ‘Talk of the Townsends’ podcast, Hathaway said she had hoped to complete the challenge but has “still” not done the full gauntlet. “Maybe next year,” she added.
‘Hot Ones’ features in ‘Verity’, and Hathaway said she suggested the appearance to establish her character, author Verity Crawford, as an “iconic cultural figure”. While filming the fictional appearance, she completed the first three wings before switching to dummy ones.
Hathaway announced her pregnancy in June. She is already mother to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6.
