Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 463 individuals and filed 38 cases during regular operations conducted across the capital in the last 24 hours.
According to the press release, the Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests at 114, followed by Uttara Division with 64, and Motijheel and Tejgaon Divisions with 50 each.
Other arrests included 47 by Ramna Division, 47 by Gulshan Division, 45 by Wari Division, and 32 by Lalbagh Division.
The Detective Branch (DB) arrested another 13 people while the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested one.
During these raids, law enforcement recovered 15,364 pieces of Yaba, 45.58 kg of cannabis, one CNG-run auto-rickshaw, one motorcycle, 10 mobile phones, and four auto-rickshaw batteries. Police also seized one knife, one cleaver, and rescued one victim during the operations.
DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division Additional Deputy Commissioner Niaz Mehdi said the arrests were made during drives across various police station areas to recover narcotics. He further confirmed that the process of taking legal action against the arrested individuals is currently underway.
