Members of the Special Response Battalion (SRB-6) arrested alleged top criminal Md Dalim Khan and two of his associates with a foreign-made pistol and ammunition in Khulna city’s Labanchara area.
The law enforcement agency recovered one foreign pistol, two rounds of live ammunition and three rounds of lead bullets from their possession during the operation.
An SRB-6 CPC Special Company team conducted the raid around 6:15pm on Wednesday in Amtala Second Lane area under Labanchara Police Station based on secret information.
The arrested people were identified as Md Dalim Khan, 40, son of late Nawab Ali Khan of Bhajawala area, Rana, son of Anis of Sonar Bangla Lane, and Abdullah Al Noman alias Nayan, 28, son of Nurul Haque, also from Sonar Bangla Lane.
All three are residents under Labanchara Police Station in Khulna.
According to law enforcement sources, a review of Dalim Khan’s police records showed that seven cases had been filed against him at Labanchara Police Station under different sections.
SRB said such operations would continue to arrest accused in regular cases, convicted criminals, warrant-listed suspects, armed criminals, drug traders and those involved in serious crimes.
A case under the Arms Act is being filed against the arrested individuals at Labanchara Police Station of Khulna Metropolitan Police. The suspects are being handed over to police along with the recovered firearm and ammunition for further legal action.
