Sanjida Islam Tuli, the BNP candidate defeated in the Dhaka-14 constituency, has demanded that the election result be canceled and a fresh vote be held, citing alleged irregularities.
Tuli submitted her complaint to the Election Commission at Agargaon on Friday afternoon, claiming that “election engineering” was carried out in her constituency.
She alleged that BNP polling agents were removed from polling stations and party workers were physically assaulted during voting. She also claimed that stamped ballots were found before voting began.
Tuli further alleged that the results of several polling centres were not publicly announced and that the signatures of polling agents were taken before voting concluded.
She urged the Election Commission to form an impartial investigation committee to probe the allegations.
