An attack was allegedly carried out on Nasiruddin Patwary, and his car was vandalised, at Lalon Shah Mazar premises in Cheuria, Kumarkhali Upazila, Kushtia.
Following the incident, tension spread across the shrine premises for a brief period.
The incident took place at around 7:15pm on Sunday on the premises of Lalon Shah Mazar.
Upon receiving information about the event, police from Kumarkhali Police Station reached the spot, and the situation is currently reported to be under control.
Kumarkhali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Jamal Uddin said, “Nasiruddin Patwary came to Lalon Mazar. I heard something happened with him. I am going to the spot. After going there, I will be able to share details.”
Meanwhile, the motive behind the attack, the identities of the attackers, and details regarding the extent of the damage could not be immediately known.
