This year marks the 15th anniversary of ‘Dark Souls’, a franchise that shows no signs of fading. Despite the absence of any official confirmation of ‘Dark Souls 4’, fans have a new way to revisit the dark, punishing world they love.
‘Dark Souls: The Fading Flame 2.0’, created by arfa on Nexus Mods, is a free overhaul mod that introduces new bosses, enemies, weapons and restored cut content.
It aims to provide a refreshed single-player experience, complete with visual enhancements and quality-of-life improvements. Highlights include seven new bosses, nine new enemies, two new invaders, restored questlines, 23 weapons, nine armour sets and reworked covenants such as Sunbros and Darkwraiths.
The mod transforms the latter half of the game while keeping the essence of the original intact, offering both nostalgia and novelty.
