George Clooney has responded to Donald Trump’s criticism, after the former president labelled him a “fake movie actor” who should “get out of politics and go back to television.”
The ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star, 63, addressed the insult on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Tuesday, April 7, saying, “You know, I will if he does. That’s a trade-off I’d make.”
Clooney had previously written a critical op-ed in The New York Times regarding President Joe Biden, arguing that the 81-year-old’s current form may hinder his chances against Trump in the 2024 election. He emphasised the potential impact of his commentary, noting that speaking out could influence the nation’s future.
Despite his criticism, Clooney praised Biden, calling him “extraordinary” for stepping aside in July to give the party the best chance to defeat Trump.
He added, “I love Joe Biden. As a senator, as vice president, and as president, I consider him a friend and believe in his character and morals. But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can.”
