Parliamentary candidates from three major political parties for Chuadanga-2 constituency have shared a single platform at a “Peace Rally” to pledge their commitment to the district’s development, regardless of political affiliation.
Organised by Zaker Party, the event took place on Thursday at 3:30pm at the Darshana Mukto Mancha.
The rally featured BNP candidate Mahmud Hasan Khan Babu, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ruhul Amin, and Hasanuzzaman Sajib from Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
Speaking at the assembly, BNP leader Babu highlighted that Chuadanga is a high-potential agricultural region, it has historically lagged in education, health, and infrastructure.
He asserted that whoever wins the upcoming national election must prioritise public interest and promised to implement a coordinated development plan involving all political representatives and civil society members.
Ruhul Amin, representing Jamaat-e-Islami, stated that the local population desires peace and stability over violent politics, seeking instead development and justice.
He called for mutual respect and cooperation to transform Chuadanga into a model district for agriculture, small-scale industries, and employment.
Hasanuzzaman Sajib of Islami Andolan Bangladesh argued that politics should focus on human welfare rather than the pursuit of power.
He advocated for a corruption-free, moral, and humane society where justice and rights are upheld, urging unity to improve education, healthcare, and youth employment based on religious values.
The programme was conducted by Zaker Party District President Abdul Latif Khan Yuvraj, and Md Ziaur Rahman Zia, co-organising secretary of the Central Council of Zaker Party Chhatra Front.
The organisers noted that the rally’s primary goal was to promote peace, coexistence, and development by bridging political divides. The event saw a large attendance including party activists, supporters, social representatives, journalists, and the general public.
