A child has died with measles-like symptoms in Kushtia, bringing the total number of deaths in the district to nine over the past four months.
Kushtia Civil Surgeon’s Office confirmed the matter in a press release. Moreover, 47 new patients were hospitalised within the last 24 hours.
Kushtia Medical College Hospital Director AHM Anwarul Islam said Rabbi, the seven-month-old child, passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment at the facility.
Since the rise in measles cases this year, a total of 1,024 individuals with measles symptoms have been admitted to Kushtia General Hospital and Kushtia Medical College Hospital. Of these, 868 patients have been discharged so far.
