The chief justice has reconstituted monitoring committees for subordinate courts across the country’s eight divisions, assigning 13 High Court judges to oversee judicial activities in specified districts, the Supreme Court administration announced in a notification.
Judicial officers have also been assigned to provide secretarial assistance to the committees.
For Barishal Division, Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain has been given responsibility. Rajshahi-2 Division (Bogura, Joypurhat, Pabna, Sirajganj) will be overseen by Justice Md Habibul Gani.
Dhaka-1 Division – covering Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Narsingdi and Tangail – has been assigned to Justice JBM Hasan.
Khulna-1 Division (Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Jashore, Narail) will be monitored by Justice Md Mujibur Rahman Mia, while Khulna-2 Division (Kushtia, Meherpur, Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, Magura) has been assigned to Justice Md Zafar Ahmed.
Mymensingh Division (Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Netrokona) will be overseen by Justice Rajik Al Jalil, and Dhaka-2 Division (Kishoreganj, Faridpur, Rajbari, Gopalganj, Shariatpur, Madaripur) has been assigned to Justice Fatema Najib.
Chattogram-1 Division (Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachhari) will be monitored by Justice SM Quddus Zaman, while Rangpur-1 Division (Rangpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat) has been assigned to Justice Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar.
Chattogram-2 Division (Noakhali, Feni, Lakshmipur, Cumilla, Brahmanbaria, Chandpur) will be overseen by Justice Ahmed Sohel, and Rajshahi-1 Division (Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Natore) has been assigned to Justice Sardar Md Rashed Jahangir.
Rangpur-2 Division (Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari) will be monitored by Justice KM Hafizul Alam, while Sylhet Division (Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Habiganj) has been assigned to Justice Md Atabullah.
The reconstitution aims to ensure effective oversight of subordinate court activities across the country. Judicial officers have been assigned to each committee to provide secretarial support, the notification added.
