Cameron Diaz and her husband, musician Benji Madden, have announced the birth of their third child, a baby boy named Nautas Madden.
The news was shared by Madden on Monday via Instagram, where he confirmed that the couple had welcomed their son and expressed their happiness at expanding their family.
“Cameron and I are Happy, Excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third Child, Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world Son!!,” he wrote. He added that the family is “grateful” and enjoying life together, noting that their children are “healthy & happy.”
Diaz responded to the announcement in the comments section with a series of red heart emojis.
Madden also revealed that their son’s name is derived from the Latin word “nauta”, meaning sailor, navigator or voyager, describing it as symbolising “one who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown.”
The couple married in January 2015 and welcomed their first child, daughter Raddix, via surrogate in 2019. Their second son, Cardinal, joined the family in 2024.
Diaz, who returned to acting in 2025 with Back in Action after a decade away from Hollywood, has previously spoken about becoming a parent later in life. In an interview with Naomi Campbell in 2020, she described it as a conscious decision requiring effort and commitment.
“You really have to work hard for it,” she said, reflecting on having a child in her forties.
More recently, Diaz said motherhood has significantly changed her outlook on life and career. Speaking to E! News in 2025, she said her priorities shifted after starting a family, adding that everything now revolves around what supports her children and home life.
“As an actor, it’s completely different having taken 10 years and lived a life that I wasn’t living when I was an actor,” she said, noting that motherhood has given her a broader perspective on life and work.
