BTS member V has become the first South Korean male celebrity to surpass 75 million followers on Instagram, adding another milestone to his global popularity.
The singer, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, reached the landmark on 7 July, according to Billboard. With the achievement, V now ranks as the second most-followed male pop star on Instagram after Canadian singer Justin Bieber.
V launched his Instagram account in December 2021 alongside the six other BTS members. His account attracted one million followers in just 43 minutes and reached 10 million in less than five hours. Both records earned him Guinness World Records, which he continues to hold.
The 30-year-old recently attended Celine’s Spring/Summer 2027 menswear show in Paris during the European leg of BTS’ Arirang tour. His appearance generated around 22 million social media interactions within 24 hours.
V is set to return to the French capital on 17 and 18 July, when BTS will stage its final European concerts before continuing the tour in North America.
