Global K-pop superstars BTS have officially confirmed their return as a full group in 2026 with a new album. The group’s agency, Big Hit Music, announced the comeback date as March 20, 2026, in a post shared online. The release will mark BTS’s first studio album since 2020’s ‘Be’ and first group record since ‘Proof’.
Ahead of the announcement, all seven members teased their return through handwritten New Year messages sent to fans. Each message hinted at reunion plans and included the date March 20, sparking excitement among the ARMY fanbase.
RM wrote that the group had waited earnestly, while Jimin and V promised new memories in the long-awaited year.
BTS confirmed they have worked together in the studio since July, preparing music shaped by every member’s ideas. The group also announced plans for a major world tour to accompany the album release in 2026.
BTS celebrated the New Year with fans through a full-group Weverse live broadcast on December 31.
During the livestream, the members reflected on the past year and shared hopes for a successful and safe comeback. The band reunited fully last July after all seven members completed South Korea’s mandatory military service.
At that time, BTS confirmed they were actively preparing new music and returning to group activities. RM later suggested the comeback timeline, asking fans to anticipate a late March release.
BTS went on hiatus in 2022 to pursue solo projects while fulfilling their military service commitments.
