Bangladesh Open University’s (BOU) Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) programme examinations for 2026 will begin on Friday, 24 July, with 47,041 students set to sit for the tests across the country.
The examinations will be held simultaneously at 216 centres located at government and private colleges and educational institutions nationwide, according to a press release issued on Wednesday, 22 July. Of the total candidates, 27,796 are male and 19,238 are female.
The university said it has taken necessary measures, in cooperation with local administrations, to ensure a peaceful and copy-free environment during the examinations. Vigilance teams from BOU will also be deployed at various examination centres.
The university said in a press release that the dates for the postponed Bengali first paper (HSC 1851) and Bengali second paper (HSC 2851) examinations, originally scheduled for 17 July 2026, would be announced later.
