The BNP has rescinded the expulsion orders of seven leaders, who were previously removed for breaching party discipline and engaging in activities inconsistent with the party’s principles and policies.
The decision was announced in a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday.
The leaders whose expulsions have been revoked include Fakhruddin Ahmed Bachchu, former BNP National Executive Committee member and former convener of Bhaluka Upazila BNP in Mymensingh; Rakibul Uddin Sarkar Pappu, former senior joint convener of Gazipur Metropolitan BNP; and Nurul Amin, former joint convener of Chattogram North District BNP.
Also reinstated are Ruhul Amin Dulal, former convener of Mathbaria Upazila BNP in Pirojpur district; Tahmid Faisal Chowdhury Comet, former president of Jaldhaka Upazila BNP in Nilphamari; Mokarram Hossain Sujon, former member of Rangpur district BNP; and Md Ali Sarkar, former member of Rangpur district BNP.
According to the party’s press release, the leaders were initially expelled from all positions, including primary membership, due to their actions.
However, following their appeals, BNP has decided to restore their primary membership and revoke the expulsion orders.
