BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has pledged that his party will create employment opportunities for 10 million people if they are voted to power.
Speaking at an election campaign rally in the Kandarpara area of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila on Saturday, BNP leader outlined a comprehensive vision for social security and economic prosperity.
The rally was attended by Sadar Upazila BNP President Abdul Hamid along with other party leaders and supporters.
During his address, Mirza Fakhrul introduced the concept of “Family Cards” for women, which he described as a vital tool for mothers and sisters to secure essential commodities. These cards would grant families access to rice, pulses, healthcare, and education services.
Furthermore, he promised the introduction of “Agriculture Cards” to ensure that farmers can obtain fertilisers and pesticides at fair prices.
Addressing the safety of minorities, the Secretary General sought to alleviate the concerns of the Hindu community, asserting that they should no longer live in fear.
He emphasised that all residents are equal citizens of the country and stated that the BNP would ensure their peace and security.
Reflecting on the current political landscape, Fakhrul noted that the traditional rivalry between the “Boat” and the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbols has changed, as the “Boat” symbol is absent this time due to various political complications. He cautioned the public regarding Jamaat-e-Islami, which is contesting the election using the “Scales” (Daripalla) symbol.
He reminded the audience that while the BNP stands for the pro-independence cause, Jamaat had opposed the independence of Bangladesh, leading to looting and forcing people to flee their homes during the war.
He concluded by reiterating the BNP’s commitment to creating one crore (10 million) jobs and providing enhanced facilities for women.
